As a Software Developer Intern at IBM, you will work on developing next-generation data processing platforms. The role involves hands-on coding, collaboration with experienced engineers, and participation across the complete software development lifecycle.

This position is designed to help interns build strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, cloud technologies, and scalable system design.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Coding

• Hands-on coding for enterprise data processing platforms
• Develop end-user applications, APIs, and internal libraries
• Follow best practices for clean, testable, and efficient code

Application Lifecycle & CI/CD

• Work across design, coding, unit testing, and deployment stages
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
• Follow rigid coding standards and documentation practices

Collaboration & Code Quality

• Support platform contributors and co-creators
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality and standards
• Work with concurrent and distributed programming concepts

Eligibility Criteria

Required Skills

• Core Java and Object-Oriented Design principles
• Strong knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms
• Understanding of design patterns and OOAD
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (xUnit)
• Familiarity with Git and Linux environments

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
