Job Description

As a Software Development Engineer in Test at Akamai, you will work in a distributed systems environment, designing and deploying automated system tests that replicate real-world scenarios. You will collaborate closely with developers and QA teams to ensure high test coverage, automation efficiency, and system reliability.

This role provides hands-on exposure to Python-based automation, system integration testing, and internet-scale technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & System Testing

• Contribute to system test plans ensuring strong automation coverage
• Design and deploy automated system tests simulating real-world conditions
• Improve testing methodologies to enhance automation efficiency

Quality & Design Validation

• Review product and system design requirements
• Validate accuracy of test plans and test cases
• Ensure delivery platforms meet world-class performance standards

Collaboration & Infrastructure

• Work closely with developers and QA teams on automation frameworks
• Contribute to system-wide automation infrastructure
• Support validation of features across distributed systems

Eligibility Criteria

Required Skills

• Experience in test automation using Python
• Strong interest in distributed systems
• Understanding of internet technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
