Role Summary – Area Collection Manager at PhonePe

As an Area Collection Manager, you will be responsible for driving collection strategies and managing delinquent portfolios for an assigned region. You will oversee collections compliance, control roll rates, and improve resolution efficiency while ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal SOPs.

This role requires strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills, along with hands-on experience in financial collections operations.


Key Responsibilities

Regional Collections Management

  • Manage and drive collections strategy for the assigned geography
  • Monitor delinquent portfolios and control bucket-wise delinquencies
  • Improve resolution and recovery rates across all stages

Process Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to collections SOPs and regulatory guidelines
  • Design and implement compliance and control frameworks for collections
  • Drive consistent execution of standardized processes across locations

Performance Monitoring & Strategy

  • Review collections KPIs to enhance customer experience
  • Develop region-specific strategies based on delinquency trends
  • Conduct daily monitoring and periodic reviews of portfolio performance

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align objectives
  • Manage disagreements constructively and bring clarity on ownership
  • Support smooth operations through proactive communication

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify gaps and improve collections processes for efficiency
  • Use data-driven insights to course-correct strategies
  • Balance short-term recovery goals with long-term business objectives
