Role Overview – Data Analyst at PayPal

As a Data Analyst, you will work closely with business users, engineers, and finance teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The role involves building SQL-based data solutions, supporting ETL pipelines, creating dashboards, and enabling automation for recurring analytics processes within PayPal’s payment and finance systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical and analytical solutions
• Write complex SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures
• Work with large payment and finance datasets
• Support ETL and data warehouse environments
• Build dashboards and BI reports for business users
• Automate recurring analytics and reporting processes
• Resolve production data and reporting issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and finance teams
• Ensure data accuracy, performance tuning, and compliance

Technical Skills Required

• Strong SQL (Stored Procedures, Performance Tuning)
• Python for data analysis and automation
• Experience with ETL and data warehouse concepts
