Role Overview – IAM Engineer I at Motorola Solutions

The IAM Engineer I role is an entry-level cybersecurity position focused on identity security, access governance, and IAM operations. You will support daily IAM activities while learning how enterprise organizations protect identities, systems, and data.

This role offers strong exposure to Active Directory, Okta, LDAP, Identity Governance (IGA), and enterprise security processes, making it an excellent foundation for a long-term cybersecurity career.

Key Responsibilities

User Support & IAM Operations

• Act as the first point of contact for user access and login issues
• Troubleshoot account lockouts, access permissions, and role issues
• Perform user provisioning, de-provisioning, and access modifications
• Process access requests as per defined IAM procedures

Identity Governance & Administration

• Support access requests using IGA platforms such as One Identity
• Assist users with IAM workflows and basic troubleshooting
• Help test and validate new identity governance workflows

System Monitoring & Documentation

• Monitor IAM systems and review alerts
• Escalate potential security issues to senior engineers
• Maintain IAM documentation and knowledge base articles
• Assist in access certification and compliance activities

Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with IT Helpdesk and business teams
• Support IAM Engineers on security projects
• Participate in training sessions and team knowledge sharing
