Job Overview

As an Associate Power Systems Engineer I at AspenTech, you’ll play a key role in designing, planning, integrating, testing, and commissioning advanced software applications for Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS). You will collaborate with utility clients to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that drive smarter, more resilient power distribution networks.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of electric distribution power systems and modelling (e.g., load flow, coordination studies, arc flash studies)
  • Programming and scripting skills (C, Python)
  • Familiarity with databases and data structures (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
  • Knowledge of system design, engineering practices, and control systems
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and support end users

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 0–2 years of experience with SCADA, DMS, or OMS software applications
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering
  • Operations or engineering experience at an electric utility is a plus
