Role Overview – Support Engineer 1 at Atlassian

As a Support Engineer (Cloud), you will deliver high-quality technical support to Atlassian customers across APAC and EMEA regions. This role goes beyond traditional support by requiring strong troubleshooting skills, deep customer empathy, and continuous learning of cloud technologies.

You’ll collaborate with global teams, contribute to internal knowledge bases, and play a key role in ensuring customers have a positive experience with Atlassian Cloud products.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide multi-channel support via email, chat, and phone
  • Diagnose, reproduce, and resolve customer configuration and technical issues
  • Understand customer use cases and implement effective workarounds
  • Troubleshoot cloud, browser, networking, and SaaS-related issues
  • Contribute to knowledge base articles and SOP documentation
  • Support APAC or EMEA customers during defined business hours
  • Participate in rotational weekend on-call support
  • Ensure adherence to Atlassian support processes and quality standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Requirements

  • 1+ year of experience in customer-facing or technical support roles
  • Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS concepts
  • Knowledge of AWS services (e.g., S3 basics)
  • Strong troubleshooting of web technologies and browser behavior
  • Experience with DevTools, HAR files, caches, cookies, and security settings
  • Understanding of DNS records (A, CNAME, TXT)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SSO, IdP/SP architecture, and identity management
  • Knowledge of email protocols (POP, IMAP, SMTP)
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams

Shift Details

  • APAC Shift: 4:30 AM – 1:30 PM IST
  • EMEA Shift: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST (subject to DST)
  • Weekend support on a rotational basis
