Role Overview – Commercial Manager (Procurement)

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing subcontracts, supplier agreements, financial reporting, commercial risk, and compliance across projects. The role requires close coordination with engineering, construction, design, finance, and legal teams to ensure contractual obligations and financial objectives are met.

You will oversee subcontract payments, tender evaluations, variation claims, project budgets, and cash flow forecasting while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and local legislation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer subcontractor payments, instructions, variations, and negotiations
  • Monitor contractual obligations to minimize financial and legal exposure
  • Oversee preparation of subcontracts, consultancy agreements, and purchase orders
  • Ensure procurement and commercial procedures comply with company policies
  • Supervise finance and commercial staff for accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly project financial status reports and risk exposure summaries
  • Review and negotiate subcontract tenders, supplier quotations, and awards
  • Certify subcontractor, supplier, and consultant payment applications
  • Calculate subcontractor variations, claims, and final accounts
  • Identify and advise on potential contractual and claim risks
  • Finalize main contract terms including pricing, bonds, and advance payments
  • Coordinate with legal and regional leadership on regulatory compliance
  • Prepare project budgets and cash flow forecasts with PDs and PMs
