Role Overview – Trainee Associate (NOC)

As a Trainee Associate – NOC, you will play a critical role in monitoring and supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure. You will work in a high-availability environment, respond to incidents in real time, collaborate with resolver teams, and help improve service quality through automation, documentation, and process improvements.

This role offers hands-on exposure to monitoring tools, ITSM platforms, incident coordination, and hybrid cloud environments.


Key Responsibilities

24×7 Application & Infrastructure Monitoring

  • Perform real-time “Eyes on Glass” monitoring using tools like Dynatrace, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Datadog, Nagios, SolarWinds
  • Detect anomalies, analyze baselines, and trigger actionable alerts

Incident Response & Escalation

  • Act as Incident Coordinator during major incidents
  • Initiate bridge calls, escalate tickets, and document incident progress
  • Participate in post-incident reviews (PIRs) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Incident Triage & Knowledge Management

  • Triage auto-generated tickets based on SOPs
  • Maintain and update knowledge bases and known error databases
  • Reduce dependency on SMEs through documentation

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Identify repetitive issues and suggest automation opportunities
  • Support “Shift-Left” initiatives to improve L1 resolution
  • Assist in scripting and automation wherever applicable

Reporting & Collaboration

  • Track KPIs such as MTTD, MTTR, ticket volumes
  • Work closely with DevOps, Operations, Product teams, and vendors
  • Ensure seamless handovers across shifts

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 0–6 months in IT Operations, NOC/SOC, or Application Support
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Nagios, Datadog, SolarWinds)
  • Exposure to ITSM tools like ServiceNow or JIRA
  • Understanding of incident management processes
  • Basic exposure to scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) preferred
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework (certification preferred)
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation or ITSM certifications
  • Exposure to on-prem data centers, cloud, or hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with CMDB and SLA-driven operations
  • Prior exposure to large enterprise or managed services environments
