Eaton India Innovation Center is hiring an Engineer – Reliability at its Pune (Hadapsar) location. This opportunity is ideal for engineers with a background in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical engineering who are interested in product reliability, design for reliability (DFR), and data-driven engineering decisions.

The role is part of Eaton’s Research & Development Engineering team, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering projects across electrical product lines.

Job Overview

Job Summary – Engineer Reliability Role at Eaton

As an Engineer – Reliability, you will be responsible for ensuring high product reliability, safety, and quality across Eaton’s electrical product portfolio. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed reliability into product designs, analyze field and warranty data, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

This role combines engineering fundamentals, statistical analysis, and real-world reliability modeling to deliver products that meet customer and business expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering & DFR

• Deliver Design for Reliability (DFR) work packages for NPI and sustaining projects
• Support reliability goal setting and risk mitigation under established sign-off processes
• Contribute to reliability planning across new and existing product improvements

Testing, Analysis & Modeling

• Create and review reliability deliverables such as FMEA, reliability predictions, ALT, RDT, and FRACAS
• Perform reliability growth analysis and life modeling for electrical components
• Convert field and warranty data into actionable reliability insights

Warranty & Field Data Analysis

• Analyze warranty trends and forecast reliability performance
• Publish monthly warranty reports and support root cause analysis for top issues
• Develop and maintain actuarial model libraries for component reliability

Collaboration & Execution

• Work with design, quality, manufacturing, and program teams
• Plan and execute project milestones with stakeholder communication
• Participate in technical reviews and on-the-job mentoring programs

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Reliability statistics and life data analysis
• FMEA, FTA, FRACAS, 8D methodologies
• Warranty and field failure data interpretation
• Experience with tools like Minitab or Reliasoft (preferred)
• Knowledge of Design for Reliability (DFR) practices
