Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Eightfold.ai, you will be part of a high-impact product engineering team responsible for building and scaling the company’s flagship Talent Acquisition (TA) platform. This product directly supports global enterprise customers and plays a critical role in Eightfold’s growth.

You will work on server-side systems, microservices, AI-powered workflows, and cloud-native architectures, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & Architecture

• Develop scalable, configurable server-side applications and modules
• Design and build new microservices or integrate with existing systems
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and reusability

Data & Platform Engineering

• Build reliable, secure data pipelines for large-scale enterprise customers
• Design systems that support customization through configuration management
• Improve platform stability, scalability, and operational efficiency

AI & Modern Engineering

• Work with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in production workflows
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity
• Contribute to automation, unit testing, and Selenium-based testing

Collaboration & Ownership

• Work closely with cross-functional teams across engineering and product
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
• Take ownership of features from design to deployment

Eligibility Criteria

Required Skills

• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Backend development experience (Python preferred)
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices
• Experience building and maintaining SaaS applications
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in cloud environments
• Effective communication and cross-team collaboration

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with Python, React.js
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor or similar)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience with automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong focus on user experience and problem-solving
