Role Overview – Trainee Engineer (Manufacturing & Logistics)

As a Trainee Engineer, you will support material planning and inventory operations that directly impact production continuity and business performance. The role focuses on material ordering, inventory optimization, shortage resolution, supplier coordination, and system accuracy using enterprise tools.

You will collaborate with suppliers, sourcing teams, and shop-floor teams to ensure smooth material flow while minimizing shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own material ordering, availability, and scheduling with target inventory levels
  • Work with Oracle / Digital Cockpit systems for materials planning
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data and system records
  • Reschedule materials for pull-ins (expedites) and push-outs
  • Investigate daily material shortages and resolve root causes
  • Coordinate with suppliers on packaging, replenishment, and planning
  • Conduct daily floor and receiving dock checks to resolve material issues
  • Support material transfers and supplier reviews with sourcing teams
  • Manage Phase-In / Phase-Out (NPI) activities to reduce obsolete inventory

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams

Added Advantage

  • Knowledge of MRP / Oracle / SAP
  • Understanding of supply chain and inventory planning concepts
