Role Summary – SDET at IDFC FIRST Bank

As an SDET, you will be responsible for validating the quality of digital banking applications through a combination of automation testing, manual testing, CI integration, and database verification. You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and Agile teams to ensure reliable and defect-free releases.

This role requires hands-on expertise in web, mobile, API, and database testing, along with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Design

• Create detailed test plans and test cases based on business and technical requirements
• Design test scenarios for web, mobile, API, and database layers
• Collaborate with development teams to understand application workflows

Automation Testing

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium, Appium, and related tools
• Execute automated test suites and analyze failures
• Identify automation opportunities and improve test efficiency

Manual & Functional Testing

• Perform manual, regression, exploratory, and functional testing
• Log, track, and verify defects with clear documentation
• Support release validation and production readiness

Web, Mobile & API Testing

• Conduct end-to-end testing for web and mobile applications
• Validate API integrations and response handling
• Ensure browser, device, and platform compatibility

CI/CD & Quality Engineering

• Design and maintain CI pipelines for automated testing
• Integrate tests into CI workflows for early defect detection
• Optimize CI processes for performance and reliability

Database Testing

• Identify performance and consistency issues

Collaboration & Documentation

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and quality discussions
