Job Description – L1 Production Support Engineer at Virtusa
As an L1 Production Support Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring enterprise applications and infrastructure, managing incidents, responding to alerts, and ensuring system stability in a 24×7 production environment.
This role provides hands-on exposure to ITSM tools, monitoring platforms, and enterprise operations, making it an excellent foundation for a long-term career in IT support and operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Monitor application and infrastructure health using tools like Nagios, Grafana, and Splunk
Acknowledge, log, and categorize incidents in ITSM tools
Perform initial triage and resolution for known issues
Respond to system alerts and take predefined corrective actions
Monitor scheduled jobs and ensure successful execution
Create, update, and close tickets in ServiceNow or Remedy
Provide timely status updates to stakeholders
Escalate critical incidents to L2 and L3 support teams
Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and incident documentation
Work in rotational shifts including weekends and holidays
