Role Overview – Security Engineer WAF & SSLO (L1)

As a Security Engineer (L1) at NTT DATA, you will be part of the Network Security Operations Center, supporting WAF and SSLO platforms. The role focuses on real-time monitoring, initial incident response, alert validation, and routine maintenance of security infrastructure for enterprise and banking clients.

This is a 24/7 shift-based role, offering strong exposure to SOC operations, firewall security, and cyber incident handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor WAF dashboards, logs, and alerts for threats like SQL Injection, XSS, and DDoS
• Perform real-time monitoring of SSLO for decryption and inspection of encrypted traffic
• Conduct daily health checks of WAF & SSLO devices
• Perform initial incident analysis and log tickets in ITSM tools
• Validate alerts to identify false positives vs genuine threats
• Escalate unresolved incidents to L2/L3 security teams
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly security reports
• Coordinate with Network, Server, and Application teams
• Maintain accurate incident records, SOPs, and documentation
• Apply patches, updates, scans, and security plugins
• Maintain asset inventory, IP addressing, routing tables, and firewall configurations
