Job Summary

As a Systems Engineer at Cognizant, you will play a key role in maintaining, monitoring, and improving the organization’s IT infrastructure. Working closely with the Service Desk team, you’ll troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensure systems run smoothly, and help implement new IT projects. This role combines technical expertise with proactive problem-solving, in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure for optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the Service Desk team
  • Monitor systems, apply updates and patches to ensure security and stability
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices
  • Ensure IT systems comply with company policies and industry standards
  • Assist with planning and execution of new IT initiatives
  • Conduct regular system audits to identify and mitigate risks
  • Manage and implement backup and recovery solutions for critical data
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Train and support other IT team members as required
  • Collaborate with other departments to address IT needs and deliver solutions
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Service Desk work models and technical support
  • Knowledge of system monitoring, performance optimization, and backup solutions
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with system audits and compliance standards
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with technology trends
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Certifications Required

  • CompTIA A+
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
