Role Overview – Data Science Analyst at Shell

As a Data Science Analyst, you will work within Shell’s Digital Process Twin Centre of Excellence, applying data science techniques to process event data. You’ll collaborate with experienced data scientists, engineers, and process analysts to generate insights that improve business process efficiency, performance, and decision-making.

This role is ideal for candidates passionate about analytics, process mining, visualization, and enterprise data science.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cleanse, and transform process event data for analysis
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and anomalies
• Create dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Plotly
• Support feature design for process performance and prediction models
• Assist in building and maintaining data models and pipelines
• Integrate data from enterprise systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and ServiceNow
• Support process mining initiatives using tools like Celonis or SAP Signavio
• Contribute to documentation, testing, and quality assurance
• Develop foundational understanding of Responsible AI and Explainable AI (XAI)

Skills & Requirements

• 0–2 years experience in data analytics or data science
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL
• Experience with pandas, NumPy, and data manipulation
• Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Matplotlib)
• Basic understanding of machine learning or statistical techniques
• Familiarity with event-based or process data is a plus
• Exposure to Celonis, SAP Signavio, or PM4Py is an advantage
