Job Summary

As a Credit Analyst, you will support Account Managers and Relationship Teams by conducting credit reviews, monitoring portfolio risk, and assessing client creditworthiness. You will evaluate financial strength, industry risks, and market conditions to ensure alignment with Standard Chartered’s risk appetite.

This role plays a key part in managing credit risk while identifying business opportunities with acceptable risk profiles.

Key Responsibilities

Credit Analysis & Risk Management

  • Lead credit reviews and ongoing monitoring of client credit risk.
  • Analyze client creditworthiness and portfolio risk.
  • Spread financials and propose credit grades aligned with internal scorecards.
  • Document client risks, mitigants, and credit-material events.

Client & Portfolio Insights

  • Provide clear, timely, and insightful portfolio credit analysis.
  • Assess industry risks and client competitive positioning.
  • Analyze funding strategies, treasury activities, hedging, and cash management.
  • Perform cash flow, liquidity, ratio, and stress-testing analysis.

Collaboration & Decision Support

  • Partner with Banking, Coverage, and Risk teams on credit origination and monitoring.
  • Support Relationship Managers and Product teams with credit intelligence and recommendations.
  • Conduct fraud risk assessments and document residual risks.

Reputational & Sustainability Risk

  • Evaluate reputational risk, including climate and sustainability considerations.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and internal risk frameworks.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Credit risk and risk management lifecycle knowledge.
  • Financial forecasting, modelling, and quantitative analysis.
  • Strong financial statement and cash-flow analysis skills.
  • Client due diligence and portfolio monitoring experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Markets
    • Transaction Banking
    • Corporate Finance
  • Understanding of financial services regulations.
  • Data analysis and visualisation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
