Role Overview – Payments Analyst at Stripe

As a Payments Analyst, you will support Stripe’s global payment infrastructure by monitoring transaction performance, handling reconciliations, and investigating operational issues across financial systems. You will work closely with engineering, finance, banking partners, and internal support teams to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability of Stripe’s payments platform.

This role combines technical analysis, financial operations, and process optimization in a high-impact environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Handle reconciliation and payment-related requests to ensure accurate ledgering
• Monitor payment performance and respond to degradation alerts
• Investigate transaction issues and identify root causes
• Communicate findings to internal teams, banking partners, and card networks
• Respond to complex operational and performance queries from internal stakeholders
• Coordinate with global financial partners to resolve operational issues
• Validate the accuracy of large-scale financial datasets
• Improve data flows, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
• Identify and automate manual or inefficient processes
• Document SOPs, workflows, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in a technical or operations role
• Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases
• Understanding of payment flows and financial systems
