Role Overview – Software Engineer (Platform Engineering)

As a Software Engineer in the Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) team, you will help design and build the core identity services that support all Thomson Reuters products. These services handle user authentication, authorization, and API security using cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.

You will work in agile Scrum teams and contribute across the full development lifecycle—from ideation and design to deployment and operations—while collaborating with product, DevOps, and test automation teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in Scrum and agile development practices
  • Design, build, test, and operate cloud-native microservices
  • Develop secure REST APIs using Java or .NET Core
  • Implement identity and access solutions using OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM
  • Work with AWS and Azure public cloud platforms
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD and infrastructure automation
  • Use open-source and commercial tools to improve platform reliability
  • Stay updated with emerging cloud and identity technologies

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

  • 1+ years of experience developing REST APIs using Java or .NET Core
  • Strong understanding of identity management and API security
  • Experience with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, or SCIM
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Identity & Platform Experience

  • Experience with identity providers such as Ping, Okta, ForgeRock
  • Exposure to microservices architecture and cloud-native design
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Istio, or serverless architectures
  • Experience in platform or infrastructure engineering roles
